I am a 58 year old female.  I raised 3 children and was divorced after 29 years of marriage.  I have worked all my life and so has my ex-husband.  He had to go out on disability in 1993 as he needed a heart transplant.  He recieved one in 1999.  He needed help being cared for so I came here to help him.  I worked and took care of h im and then about 2 years ago, I got laid off work and then started having medical problems.  I drew unemployment and we paid the bills regular until the unemployment ran out.  Now I live on $589 per mo per SSI and SS.  He draws $11,692 a month and it takes everything both of us make just to survive and then are short come the end of the month.  We need help.  We would like to buy a small house with lower house payments than we have now.  We also are in need of a dependable vehicle as we have to travel to hospitals so often. 

I am a 58 yr old divorced woman.  About 6 years ago, my ex-husband was dying and needed someone to help him thru his illness.  He had a heart transplant and is still not well but is better.  I worked and helped him and then suddenly, I started having heart trouble and was put out of work on total disability.  I need help in finding housing we can afford as I only have an income of $589 per month from SSI and SS.  His income is 11,692.  It takes everything we make to pay our rent, upkeep our vehicles, buy groceries ect.  I don't know if there is any help for us but if we could get into a smaller home with cheaper payments and help with paying some bills.  I worked and even after getting sick continued to pay what we could on our incomes as I drew unemployment.  Once that ran out there was no extra money to pay them.  I don't know how to do this except to be as honest as I possible can.  We were living in a 24 ft travel trailer in friends yard but the trailer is in such bad shape as we are it would be impossible to live in again.  Please thank you for any help you may be able to offer.
